08/01/24 - MusicNC is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Sore Thumb’24 Hopscotch Day Party, which will take place September 6-7, 2024 at Boxcar Bar + Arcade in Raleigh, NC. With a lineup ranging from Americana to Electronica, the Sore Thumb Day Party offers two days of diverse North Carolina based musical acts.
“As an organization dedicated to the promotion of North Carolina music, partnering with Sore Thumb allows us the opportunity to highlight a wide spectrum of current NC talent,” said Daniel Snyder, Program Director of MusicNC. “This sponsorship also serves to demonstrate our continued commitment to celebrating North Carolina’s rich, musical culture,” said Snyder.
This year’s Sore Thumb showcase includes artists and bands from Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Greensboro, Mebane, and Raleigh. For many of these musicians, this will be their first opportunity to play to an audience on this scale.
The Hopscotch Music Festival draws 30,000 people annually to downtown Raleigh. Showcasing emerging talent as well as more established and much-loved artists, the festival has grown into a premiere destination for live music fans.
“Hopscotch’s success can be attributed to the diversity of the musical styles it offers,” said Jeremy Blair, programmer of the Sore Thumb Day Party. “We really work to embrace that idea, just on a much more local level.”
The Sore Thumb ’24 Hopscotch Day Party kicks off at noon each day. Admission is free.
